Magic Socks for Acute Illness!

Updated: Jan 5, 2022

This is a great therapy you can do in the comfort of your own home to help with cold/flu. It can even help colicky kids sleep better. I recently had a patient coming down with a cold. She did the socks and reported the next day that she felt better! This therapy is a Naturopathic Hydrotherapy secret. It helps to boost the immune system, move lymph and rid the body of waste.

What you need:

1 pair of thin cotton socks

1 pair of thick wool socks

Warm bath or hot shower

Bowl with cold/ice water

Directions:

Before bed, take a pair of thin cotton socks and soak them in a bowl of cold water. Warm yourself first by taking a hot bath or shower and stay in bath for approximately 15 mins until a sweat or skin is pink. Dry completely with towel quickly and get into PJ's. Wring water out of socks and place  socks on feet. Cover with thick wool socks. Go directly to bed to avoid getting chilled. The socks are only cold for a minute. Keep the socks on overnight. You will find that they will be warm and dry in the morning. The magic sock treatment is best if repeated for three nights in a row.

TESTIMONIAL

"Recently I was suffering with the Flu and I asked my Naturopahtic Doctor for suggestions on home remedies. Dr. Sparks mentioned something that can help boost your own immune system called, Warming Socks.

I need to preface this by saying that I loathe being cold. So, the very thought of putting ice cold socks on my feet as I was instructed, especially while not feeling well, was the last thing I really wanted to do. The instructions also mentioned that my feet would feel cold for only a few seconds after I covered them with the thicker wool socks, and that both pair would be completely dry in the morning after sleeping with them on all night.

I'll admit, I did not believe it. Imagine my surprise however, that both of these things were not only true, but I actually felt so much better the next day! So much so, that I now refer to these warming socks as, "Magic Socks"! I realize that there really is no magic pill for sickness, but I assure you, the ability of these socks to kickstart my very own immune system really worked for me.

I did these socks for the recommended 3 days, despite thoughts of just lying in bed and not wanting to move, and I can attest that it is well worth the effort ( and the few seconds of cold feet!) Combined with the extra Vitamin C, broths, fluids and rest that were also recommended, my symptoms were lessened and I truly believe they also subsided much quicker than they would have otherwise. I have never suffered from the flu before and I was so grateful for these Magic Socks! And even more grateful for a quicker recovery without pills or antibiotics!"
