Yummy Chia Pudding

I like to make a few different kinds and keep them in the fridge. Then I take a few spoonfuls whenever I have a sweet tooth or dessert craving.

Chia seeds have protein, zinc, essential fatty acids and loads of fiber. The protein is great for immune cell building, zinc has been know to help boost the immune system. Essential fatty acids are good for heart health and fiber is great for clearing old cholesterol from the body and keep the GI tract healthy.

You can mix and match and add other things that I haven't mentioned here.

Base Ingredients

  • Chia seeds

  • Mason jar or glass container

  • Alternative milk like hemp, coconut, almond, oat or water

Optional Ingredients

  • blueberries, raspberries, blackberries

  • mango, papaya, guava, pineapple

  • Vanilla or chocolate protein powder, cacao powder

  • Honey or maple syrup

  • hemp hearts (great protein)

  • raisins

  • nuts or raw nut butters

  • flax seeds (freshly ground), sunflower seeds

Directions

  1. Place 3 tbls of chia seeds in a mason jar

  2. Fill to about 14/-1/2 full with alternative milk or water

  3. Add berries or fruit

  4. Mix and then let sit for 5 mins

  5. Mix again

  6. Add powder and mix

  7. Top with 2 tbls of nut butter, hemp hearts or nuts

  8. Store in fridge for up to a week

My standard is blueberries, almond butter, hemp heart with vanilla protein powder if I have it in the house

My not-so-guilty pleasure is cacao powder or chocolate protein powder with organic peanut butter and maple syrup.

I just bought chai seeds yesterday. Although, I must admit, I plan to try the recipe that incorporates chocolate!
